After another strong showing on the diamond, Clemson Baseball continues its rise up the national rankings heading into Week 9 of the college baseball season.

The Tigers check in at No. 3 in the latest D1Baseball rankings, while Perfect Game places Clemson as high as No. 2. Baseball America has the Tigers at No. 6, rounding out a trio of top-10 placements that reflect the team’s consistency and dominance through the heart of ACC play.

Baseball America’s Scouting Report

Clemson dropped one spot in the rankings due to poll movement, but there’s no sign of slippage on the field. The Tigers handled their business in Week 9, winning their midweek game and taking two of three from a capable Stanford squad that spent time in the rankings earlier this season. Aidan Knaak set the tone Friday with six strong innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out six. At the plate, Jacob Jarrell continued his power surge with two more home runs to bring his team-leading total to nine, and Lucas Mahlstedt locked down his 12th save of the season with a three-inning appearance on Saturday, continuing to set himself up nicely for postseason national honors. A road trip to No. 17 Louisville awaits after a midweek breather.”

Clemson went 3-1 this past week, including a midweek win over Gardner-Webb and a weekend series victory over visiting Stanford. The Tigers took two out of three from the Cardinal, adding another key ACC series win to their postseason résumé and making them a perfect 5-0 in ACC series this season.

Next up, Clemson will return to Doug Kingsmore Stadium for a Thursday-Friday-Saturday home series against No.17 Louisville. The Cardinals come to town looking to play spoiler, but the Tigers have momentum on their side as they continue to build their case as one of the top teams in college baseball.
