Yesterday, Softball America released its 2025 Freshman Watch List, highlighting some of the most promising young players in collegiate softball. Among the honorees were two Clemson freshmen, Sam Minish and Marian Collins, whose preseason recognition shows their exceptional performances before arriving at Clemson.

Both Minish and Collins hail from Georgia, a state known for producing elite softball talent. These two additions to the Clemson softball roster are part of a promising group of newcomers expected to make an immediate impact in their debut season.

Sam Minish:

Minish, an outfielder from Hull, Georgia, bats and throws left-handed. She graduated from Madison County High School, where she earned numerous accolades, including three-time Region 8-AAAA First Team All-Region, two-time GACA AAAA First Team All-State, and two-time team MVP. Her impressive high school career demonstrates her ability to perform at a high level, making her a key asset for the Tigers.

Marian Collins:

Collins, an infielder from Marietta, Georgia, bats left-handed and throws right-handed. She attended Mount Paran Christian School, where her achievements included 2A Player of the Year, two-time Region Player of the Year, and two-time First Team All-State. Collins' skillset and high school success show she will bring dynamic playmaking abilities to Clemson’s infield.

Head Coach John Rittman did an outstanding job recruiting such exceptional talent. Clemson fans won’t have to wait long to see Minish and Collins in action, as the Tigers’ first home game at McWhorter Stadium is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th, at 6:00 p.m. against Furman.
