While much of the spotlight in Clemson’s quarterback room naturally gravitates toward starter Cade Klubnik, the rest of the Tigers’ signal-callers made a strong case for attention during the Orange and White Spring Game. With double the possessions of a typical contest, it was a true showcase of depth and Clemson’s young guns did not disappoint.
Collectively, Clemson’s quarterbacks completed 35-of-53 passes for 424 yards. But it was the flashes of future stardom behind Klubnik that stole the show.
Christopher Vizzina, the Former Four-Star on the Rise

Redshirt sophomore Christopher Vizzina looked sharp and composed in the spring game, going 6-of-7 through the air for 75 yards. His longest pass was a 30-yard strike which was one of several well-placed balls that demonstrated his improved mechanics and pocket poise. Vizzina also added a few impressive runs, showing off his athleticism in open space.
“I thought he was awesome today,” head coach Dabo Swinney said after the spring game. “He can make the throws, he can run.” Even Klubnik has praised Vizzina’s growth, saying he has had “huge strides this spring.”
Trent Pearman: Spring Game Standout Again

If there’s one player who consistently thrives in the spring, it’s Trent Pearman. The redshirt junior posted another highlight-reel performance, finishing 6-of-13 passing for 130 yards — including an outstanding 72-yard touchdown pass to Tristan Smith that made Death Valley go crazy. Pearman’s comfort with the offense and ability to push the ball downfield was on full display.
This isn’t new for Pearman, who led a similar aerial display in last year’s spring game. His command of the offense, paired with an aggressive mindset, makes him an intriguing option should his number be called.
Freshman Chris Denson Impresses in Debut

One of the most pleasant surprises of the afternoon was freshman southpaw quarterback Chris Denson. In limited action, Denson was a perfect 4-for-4 passing for 53 yards, including a 31-yard laser over the middle. He also flashed some dual-threat potential, picking up yards with his legs and helping orchestrate a 75-yard scoring drive alongside fellow freshman running back Gideon Davidson. “The game kind of comes easy to him,” Dabo Swinney said during the start of spring practice. “He’s a natural.”
Denson’s calm presence and athleticism give Clemson fans even more reason to be excited about the future of the quarterback room.
A Quarterback Room Full of Upside
Between Vizzina’s huge development, Pearman’s consistency, and Denson’s promising debut, the future of Clemson’s quarterback corps looks incredibly bright. Each player brings a unique skill set, and with continued development under offensive coordinator Garrett Riley, there’s plenty of reason to believe this group will keep elevating.
The Tigers’ spring game offered a glimpse of that potential — and what we saw is a quarterback room not just with depth, but one brimming with upside. You also can’t forget about two more additions coming to the quarterback room in 2026: three-star quarterbacks Tait Reynolds and Brock Bradley who will be thrown into the mix.
Cade Klubnik might be the present, but the future under center in Death Valley looks as strong as ever.
