Clemson Tigers Baseball: Climbing the Rankings After Palmetto Series Sweep

Clemson Tigers Baseball Roll

Coming off a Palmetto Series sweep over the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Clemson Tigers baseball team is on fire, rolling through 11 games to start the season, with a record of 10-1. Clemson went 4-0 this past week, first defeating the Winthrop Eagles 20-7 on Tuesday, then capping it off with the dominant Palmetto Series sweep.

In this week's edition of the college baseball rankings across the three major polls, Clemson saw significant movement:


đŸ”ș Tigers jumped three spots this week, moving from No. 7 to No. 4 in the rankings.

đŸ”č This is Clemson’s highest ranking of the season so far, and it will be the one reflected here on our site.


đŸ”ș Clemson climbed three spots, going from No. 8 to No. 5 in this week’s poll.

đŸ”č Standout performances over the past week observed by Baseball America:

  • Cam Cannarella went 5-for-13 with a double and six runs scored.

  • Collin Priest hit 4-for-13 with two home runs, leading the team.

  • Pitching dominance: Led by Ethan Darden’s seven shutout frames, Clemson’s starting pitchers combined for 17.2 innings, 17 strikeouts, and only three earned runs allowed over the weekend.


đŸ”ș Clemson moved up two spots, from No. 13 to No. 11 this week.

đŸ”č This remains the only poll keeping Clemson outside the Top 5.


Upcoming Schedule

Clemson gets back to action tomorrow, traveling to Greenville, SC, to face the USC Upstate Spartans at 6:00 p.m. EST at Fluor Field.

đŸ”č The Tigers return home Wednesday for a midweek matchup against the Presbyterian College Blue Hose at 4:00 p.m. EST.

đŸ”č To close out the week, Clemson the Davidson College Wildcats for a three-game weekend series:

  • Friday at 4:00 p.m.
