CLEMSON, S.C. – Four Tigers were named to Inside Lacrosse’s Midseason All-America list the publication announced Thursday morning. Senior Summer Agostino and sophomore Natalie Shurtleff were selected to the third-team while sophomore Kayla MacLeod and freshman Kira Balis were named as honorable mentions. Prior to this year, senior goalie Emily Lamparter was the only other Tiger to be selected to the Midseason All-America list as an honorable mention.
Agostino, one of three Clemson players to be named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, has been a defensive force for the Tigers. The IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week and ACC Defensive Player of the Week award winner is one the best players in the country in causing turnovers and picking up ground balls. The senior has consistently been ranked top-five in the country in per game averages on ground balls and caused turnovers and has recently broken the Clemson single-season record for caused turnovers after being responsible for three turnovers against Louisville and is four ground balls away from breaking the single-season record for Clemson.
Another Tewaaraton Award Watch List member and named to the ACC All-Freshman Team last season, MacLeod has cemented herself as one of the most dangerous scorers in the country. The Georgia-native has been consistently in the top-10 in the ACC for total goals scored and goals scored per game. So far during the 2025 season, she has surpassed her freshman goal total and has recorded three games with at least five goals, including over then-No. 9 Florida. MacLeod is additionally poised to become the third player in Clemson Lacrosse history to collect at least 70 points in their career and has become the second Clemson player to score 60 goals in her career
The last of three Tewaaraton Award Watch List members and another ACC All-Freshman selectee, Shurtleff has been an exceptional two-way midfielder. On the offensive end, the Marylander has surpassed her freshman total in goals and became the second player to hit 70 points in a Tigers uniform. She has improved her shooting and shot on goal percentage as well as her shooting percentage from the eight-meter. On defense, she is third on the team in ground balls and sixth in caused turnovers and one of three Clemson players to record at least 20 draws. Shurtleff is currently the all-time leader in assists for the Tigers and, until the most recent game versus UAlbany, tied for the single-season Clemson record for assists in a season.
The No. 22-ranked freshman per Inside Lacrosse, Balis has been sensational as the primary draw threat for the Tigers. The Marylander has already broken the 100 draw control barrier her first season as a collegiate athlete and has never been ranked outside the top-two in the ACC in draw controls per game in 2025. In her third game played, she established a new record for most draw controls in a single game for Clemson Lacrosse with 18 before breaking that record again three games later with 20 against Queens. She only needs to record five more draw controls to set the single season record for most draw controls in a season for the Tigers.
