Clemson graduate transfer third baseman Josh Paino has found his rhythm at the plate, providing a major offensive boost for the Tigers. After a rough series against South Carolina in which he went hitless with eight strikeouts, Paino has flipped the script, delivering clutch performances in the last seven games. His turnaround has been a key factor in Clemson’s recent offensive success.

Paino’s Impressive Offensive Performance

Paino has been on a tear, hitting .400 (12-for-30) over the last seven games while belting three home runs and driving in nine runs. His overall season batting average has climbed up to .324, accompanied by four home runs and 21 RBIs.

One of Paino’s most impactful performances came during the Davidson series, where he played a vital role in Clemson’s offensive explosion. In Saturday’s matchup, he delivered a dominant 4-for-5 performance, launching a crucial home run and driving in four runs. His ability to come through with runners in scoring position helped Clemson build on a dominant lead, setting the tone for the series. He followed that up on Sunday with another standout showing, going 3-for-5 and consistently finding ways to get on base, keeping the Tigers' offense rolling.

Paino continued his hot streak in Clemson’s battle against Liberty on Wednesday, proving once again that his bat is heating up at just the right time. Early in the game, he crushed a three-run home run, immediately putting Clemson in control. His 2-for-4 performance, which included three RBIs, demonstrated his growing confidence and ability to deliver in high-pressure moments. His power surge has been a game-changer for the Tigers, providing them with much-needed production from the middle of the lineup.

Defensive Consistency at the Hot Corner

While his bat has recently come alive, Paino has remained a rock-solid presence at third base throughout the season. His strong arm and range have been on display, making key plays to help Clemson’s defense. Even during his offensive struggles, Paino’s defensive contributions never wavered, proving his value to the team beyond just his bat.

Josh Paino’s Impact Moving Forward

Paino, who transferred from California Baptist, has quickly become an important part of the Clemson lineup. His ability to bounce back after a difficult stretch shows his resilience and ability to adjust to adversity. If he continues his hot streak, he could be a difference-maker for the Tigers as they push deeper into the season.

With conference play starting this weekend against Notre Dame, Clemson will look to Paino to maintain his production at the plate while continuing to flash the leather at third base. If his recent performances are any indication, he’s more than ready to deliver when his team needs him most.
